Advancing Online Safety and Responsible AI Use at Afrancho M/A JHS Last week, students at Afrancho M/A JHS engaged in timely conversations on navigating the digital world safely and responsibly. In observance of Safer Internet Day 2026, the Online Safety Club of Ghana Internet Safety Foundation (GISF), led by Afrancho M/A JHS, engaged students in practical conversations on online safety, digital responsibility, and the ethical use of artificial intelligence (AI) as part of the Safer Internet Day campaign. With research showing that children and adolescents now spend an average of over 6 hours a day online, and AI-powered tools increasingly embedded in learning, students face growing risks including misinformation, data privacy breaches, cyberbullying, and misuse of AI in academics. The session therefore emphasized safe online behaviour, digital precautions, critical thinking, and responsible AI use, helping learners better understand how to engage technology ethically and securely.
