Recognized for Impact. Inspired to Do More.
GISF’s work extends beyond Ghana through participation in international networks and collaborative initiatives advancing child online protection, victim support and safer digital environments. Our membership and participation in these networks connect Ghanaian experiences to global practice while enabling GISF to learn, collaborate and contribute to international efforts addressing emerging online harms.
These affiliations are important to GISF because online harms do not stop at national borders. Child sexual exploitation and abuse, sextortion, intimate-image abuse, cyberbullying, AI-enabled harms and other technology-facilitated risks increasingly require cross-border cooperation and coordinated responses.
By participating in national, African and international networks, GISF helps ensure that Ghanaian and African perspectives are represented in the global conversation on online safety, while bringing international knowledge, tools and good practices closer to the communities we serve.

In 2026, GISF was formally honoured by Ghana’s Cyber Security Authority (CSA) in recognition of our significant contribution to cybersecurity development in Ghana.
The recognition reflects GISF’s sustained contribution to child online protection, online safety education, cybersecurity awareness, professional capacity building and collaborative efforts to strengthen Ghana’s digital safety ecosystem.
For GISF, this honour represents more than an institutional achievement. It reinforces the importance of collaboration between government, civil society, industry, academia and communities in creating safer digital experiences for everyone.
GISF’s work has also received national recognition through the Ghana Philanthropy Awards, highlighting our contribution to digital inclusion and online safety in Ghana.
This recognition reflects our belief that digital inclusion must go hand in hand with digital safety. Expanding access to technology is important — but people must also have the knowledge, skills, support and confidence to use technology safely and responsibly.

Every award, grant and recognition belongs to the wider community behind our mission — the young people who participate in our programs, parents and educators who champion online safety, professionals who strengthen their capacity to respond to online harm, volunteers who give their time, and partners who believe in what we are building.
For us, recognition is not the destination. It is a reminder of the responsibility to do more.
As technology evolves and new risks emerge, GISF remains committed to advancing child online protection, digital wellbeing, responsible AI, cybercrime prevention, professional capacity building, research, victim support and safer digital participation across Ghana and Africa.
Together, we are building a digital future where everyone — especially children and young people — can learn, connect, create and thrive safely.
