These terms apply to your use of the Ghana Internet Safety Foundation (GISF) website. By using the site, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

1. About us

This website is run by the Ghana Internet Safety Foundation, a non-profit organisation registered in Ghana. Our registration details are available on request. Our contact details are at the end of these terms.

2. Not an emergency service

If a child or anyone else is in immediate danger, contact the Ghana Police Service or emergency services straight away. Our website, reporting form and CyberClinic Helpline (267) are not emergency services, and we cannot guarantee an immediate response.

3. Information on this website

We work hard to make sure the guidance and resources on this site are accurate and up to date. They are for general information and education only, and are not legal, medical, psychological or professional advice. For advice about your own situation, please contact us or a qualified professional.

4. Reporting online harm

When you use our reporting form, please:

  • give information that is true to the best of your knowledge
  • only report content you have personally come across
  • never download, copy or send us child sexual abuse material. Send the link and a description instead

Making a false or malicious report may be an offence under Ghanaian law. We review every report, but we cannot promise that content will be removed or that any particular action will be taken. How we handle the information you give us is explained in our Privacy Policy.

5. Using our content

The text, images, logos, toolkits and other materials on this site belong to GISF or our partners, unless stated otherwise. You may download, print and share our resources for non-commercial educational and safeguarding purposes, such as in schools, families and community groups, as long as you credit GISF and don’t change them. For any other use, including commercial use or adapting our materials, please ask us first at info@gisfoundation.com.

Photos on this site may show children and young people who take part in our programmes. Please do not copy, download or reuse these images.

6. Acceptable use

You must not use this website to:

  • break any law, or harm, harass or threaten anyone
  • upload or send viruses or other harmful code, or try to access parts of the site you are not authorised to use
  • send spam, or pretend to be someone else

We may block access to anyone who misuses the site.

7. Donations

  • Donations are processed securely by Paystack, or by direct Mobile Money transfer. GISF never stores your card details.
  • Donations are used to support GISF’s charitable work. Where you give to a specific programme, we will use your gift for that programme where possible, or for similar work if it is fully funded.
  • Donations are generally non-refundable. If you made a mistake, for example donating the wrong amount, contact us at info@gisfoundation.com within 14 days and we will help.
  • Monthly giving: you can cancel at any time by emailing info@gisfoundation.com.

8. Links to other websites

Our site links to other websites that we think are helpful. We don’t control them and are not responsible for their content or how they handle your information.

9. Limitation of liability

We provide this website free of charge and “as is”. As far as the law allows, GISF is not responsible for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content, or from the site being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that cannot be excluded under Ghanaian law.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page. Continuing to use the site means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana, and any disputes will be handled by the courts of Ghana.
