Young athletes are connected, visible and full of ambition. That makes them targets. We work with players, coaches, clubs and parents to keep sport safe both on and off the pitch.
Sport changes young lives in Ghana. It builds discipline, teamwork and, for many, a path to a better future. Today much of a young athlete’s journey happens online: team WhatsApp groups, highlight videos, social media followings, and messages from scouts and agents.
These same channels create serious risks. Young players can be groomed by people in positions of trust, targeted by fake agents promising trials abroad, exploited through sextortion, or abused online after a loss. Their images can be shared without consent, and their dreams can be used against them.
GISF’s Child Online Protection in Sports Program brings digital safeguarding into the sporting environment. We equip young athletes to recognise and report risks. We also help coaches, clubs, academies and federations put in place the policies, training and reporting pathways that keep children safe.
Children learn about common online risks and how to make safer decisions when using digital platforms.
Helping children identify, prevent and respond to cyberbullying and harmful online behavior.
Teaching children how to protect personal information, accounts and digital identities.
Building awareness about responsible conversations, online friendships and digital respect.
Everyone Who Shapes a Young Athlete’s Journey
Every young athlete deserves to pursue their passion without fear of exploitation. Partner with GISF to bring digital safeguarding to clubs, academies and competitions across Ghana.
