When Curiosity Meets Guidance: The Future Begins to Think Differently ✨ What happens when technology meets purpose? When curiosity meets guidance? On Monday, October 20th, Ghana Internet Safety Foundation (GISF) visited Afua Kobi Ampem Girls SHS with a mission to ignite awareness, creativity, and responsibility in the next generation of digital citizens. The engagement was spearheaded by Mr. Gabriel Ofori Appiah – DTH,MTH,DTH, Director for Outreach and Awareness, who led a dedicated team from GISF. What unfolded that day was more than a conversation; it was a spark of change. Over 2,500 brilliant students explored what it truly means to be safe, smart, and intentional online. The energy, curiosity, and eagerness to learn turned a simple engagement into a defining moment for everyone present. Mr. Gabriel shared a powerful reminder: Awareness! Awareness!! Awareness!!! He highlighted that digital citizenship and wellness are essential life skills for every student. Digital citizenship involves using technology responsibly, practicing online safety, and showing ethical behavior and respect in digital spaces. He also emphasized digital wellness, which focuses on balancing online and offline life through mindful screen use, protecting mental health, and maintaining healthy digital habits. In Ghana’s growing digital landscape, such conversations are essential. As technology becomes central to education, both teachers and students must be prepared to handle challenges like cyberbullying, misinformation, online grooming, reputation management, sexstortion, and digital addiction.
