On behalf of the Board, staff, volunteers and partners of the Ghana Internet Safety Foundation (GISF), I am pleased to present our Annual Report for 2025.
2025 was a year in which the Foundation deepened its work across every pillar of our mandate. We strengthened the capacity of peer counsellors and educators to act as digital safeguarding focal points; equipped law
enforcement and justice-sector officers to investigate and prosecute online child sexual exploitation and abuse; supported parents and caregivers to guide their children through an increasingly AI-mediated digital world; and extended our reach into schools, faith communities and the media. Across 33 engagements in six regions, we trained and certified more than 230 frontline professionals and reached over 5,700 students, as well as hundreds of parents, caregivers and community members.
This year also marked a deepening of our partnerships. Our continued collaboration with Praesidio Safeguarding UK on the National Digital Parenting Programme, our work with Ghana’s Cyber Security Authority and law enforcement agencies through the E-Police Academy, and our relationship with the Ghana Education Service through the iLearn2Teach programme all reflect a shared, cross-sectoral commitment to children’s safety and rights in the digital environment.
None of this would have been possible without the dedication of our staff and volunteers, the trust of our institutional partners, and the openness of the communities who welcomed us into their schools, churches and workplaces. We also recognize the challenges we encountered: technical and logistical constraints at some venues, and persistent gaps in digital safety knowledge that our pre- and post-training assessments continue to reveal. These lessons are shaping a shift in 2026 from one-off training towards sustained, measurable capacity strengthening
