The Ghana Internet Safety Foundation Academy (GISF Academy), in collaboration with the Cybersecurity Authority, the Trust & Safety Hackathon, USA, The Embedded Learning Challenge, and other affiliate partners, proudly announces the annual Trust and Safety Hackathon. This inaugural event in Africa is themed ‘Securing the Digital Frontier,’ and aims to catalyze the development of innovative cybersecurity solutions that address the critical issues of cyberbullying and sextortion in Ghana.
This hybrid event will take place both virtually and in-person at the Academic City University College. Participants are expected to propose novel approaches to detect, mitigate, or educate users about cyberbullying and sextortion. The solutions must be scalable, user-friendly, and applicable in the Ghanaian and broader African contexts, with participants also required to prototype, pitch their ideas, and demonstrate their solution’s feasibility.
The hackathon fosters collaboration and diversity, encouraging participants to form teams of two to four members with varied skills, such as coding, design, or expertise in online safety. These teams will brainstorm ideas, design solutions, and develop a prototype or presentation for the hackathon judges.
Join us in this pioneering effort to shape the future of digital safety in Africa and contribute to securing the digital frontier.
