The day opened with impactful Opening Remarks from Dr. Jamal Tonzua Seidu , Ag. Deputy Director General, Cyber Security Authority, setting the stage for meaningful discussions on child online protection in Ghana. In a sobering moment, Dr. Seidu shared a real case of online grooming and sextortion involving a 14-year-old girl, reinforcing the need for stronger victim support, investigations, and accountability, including from tech platforms. The first Keynote Address, moderated by Benjamin Owusu – Ansah, was delivered by Helen King (Praesidio Safeguarding Co-Director) and Emmanuel Adinkra- CISM MCSE PMP, President of Ghana Internet Safety Foundation, highlighting the current state of child online safety in Ghana and the urgent need for collaboration across government, civil society, tech, and law enforcement. Even at the start of the Summit, Mr Emmanuel left a striking message: “We are not here to admire the problem but to engineer solutions to it.” These words capture the spirit of NOSS 2026, turning insights into practical action and stronger safeguards for children online.
