The breakout group session on “Understanding the Child Online Protection Ecosystem & Identifying Gaps” was a strong reality-check and a solutions moment. Stakeholders broke into focused groups on reporting & hotlines, intelligence/data, operational coordination, industry/technology, AI & crime convergence, and community/education/law to identify what Ghana needs to strengthen child online protection. Key suggestions were practical and urgent: telcos need dedicated rapid-response teams, Ghana needs a centralised case management system, and we must destigmatise reporting so survivors and families can seek help without fear. There were also calls for a national grooming awareness campaign, stronger coordination led by the CSA, and better preparedness for how AI is shaping both online harm and investigations, especially as children use AI tools without fully understanding the risks. For now, it’s lunch and networking 🍽️, then we return to the sessions with sharper focus.
