Accra, Ghana 27th Sept,23 – In a commendable move to bolster the Child Online Protection awareness campaign, the Ghana Internet Safety Foundation (GISF) has donated a significant number of customized exercise books to the Ghana Cybersecurity Authority. This initiative is part of the foundation’s ongoing efforts to promote safe internet use among the nation’s youth.The exercise books, adorned with internet safety tips and guidelines, aim to educate students about the potential dangers they might encounter online and provide them with strategies to navigate the digital world safely. The donation ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Ghana Cybersecurity Authority, with representatives from both organizations in attendance.
Mr. Gabriel Ofori Appiah, Director-Operations at GISF, presented the books to the Ghana’s Cybersecurity Authority. Speaking about the importance of the initiative, he said, “The digital age has brought countless opportunities for our children, but it also presents unique challenges. It’s our responsibility to ensure that they are equipped with the knowledge and tools to protect themselves online. “The Officials of the CSA, expressed their gratitude for the donation. “These exercise books are not just stationery; they are tools of empowerment.
By integrating internet safety lessons into everyday learning materials, we are taking a proactive approach to cybersecurity education,” they remarked. The Child Online Protection awareness campaign, spearheaded by the Ghana Cybersecurity Authority in collaboration with various stakeholders, including GISF, focuses on equipping children, parents, and educators with the necessary knowledge to ensure a safe online environment for young users. Schools across the country will receive the customized exercise books in the coming weeks. The Ghana Cybersecurity Authority and GISF also plan to organize workshops and seminars to further disseminate information on online safety. GISF was joined by an industry partner, Cyber Bells Foundation.
Both organizations urge parents and educators to engage with children about their online activities and to utilize the resources provided in the exercise books. With collective effort, the goal is to create a safer digital space for Ghana’s future generation.
