GISF And Its Partners Launch Trust And Safety Africa Academy Fellowship

The Ghana Internet Safety Foundation in collaboration with Impact Amplifier, AIS-USA, and other affiliate organizations have launched the newly introduced The Trust and Safety Africa Academy Fellowship.

This is an upcoming hybrid transformative, tuition-free fellowship program designed to equip African students with the tools and expertise to address pressing online safety challenges and promote trust and safety across the continent.

Key Schedules As Follows:

• Application Deadline: 13th January 2025

• Announcement of Selected Candidates: 27th January 2025

• Fellowship Duration: 1st February – 25th April 2025 (Virtual)

Eligibility Requirements

To apply, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Be a resident in Africa and enrolled as a university student.

• Be between 18 and 35 years old.

• Be committed to fostering gender equity and inclusiveness in digital safety initiatives.

• Demonstrate a passion for building safer digital spaces and advocating for digital rights.

• Be able to dedicate 2 to 4 hours weekly to fellowship activities.

• Show interest in addressing issues like cyberbullying, sextortion, misinformation, and other online harms.

• Have access to a laptop, PC, or tablet for virtual sessions.

• Women are especially encouraged to apply.

Fellowship Tracks

Participants can choose from the following tracks:

• Trust and Safety

• Digital Forensics & Incident Response (DFIR)

• Combined Track (Trust and Safety + DFIR)

Note: The Academy may reassign applicants to tracks that best align with the fellowship’s goals.
