United Against Online Abuse Conference 2025 Coalition To Stop Hate Speech In Sport The Second United Against Online Abuse (UAOA) in Sport Conference, held on 9th September 2025 at the Grand Hôtel Stockholm brought together global leaders from sport, technology, policy, and academia to address one of the most urgent challenges of our digital age: online abuse. Ghana Internet Safety Foundation (GISF) was represented virtually by our Director of Outreach and Awareness, Gabriel Ofori Appiah – DTH,MTH,DTH who joined this high-level dialogue on building safer and more inclusive online environments. Convened by Mohammed Ben Sulayem, FIA President, and supported by the FIA Foundation and the European Commission, the conference featured insightful contributions from speakers such as TikTok’s Val Richey and Signify’s Jonathan Hirshler and Professor David Hassan (FIA University). Together, they explored lived experiences of online abuse, technology-driven anti-hate measures, legal frameworks for threat protection, and coalition-led safeguarding strategies. For GISF, participation in this conference was not only a chance to connect with global best practices but also an opportunity to ensure Ghana’s voice was represented in this international dialogue. The knowledge gained will directly inform our outreach, advocacy, and collaborations as we continue working to strengthen digital resilience and protect communities across Ghana and beyond.
